(Entering Startup Repair Mode After Blue Screen When Booting Windows 7)

(Startup Repair Mode)

For H61, B75 mainboards, there are many mainboards whose satamodes have IDE defaults. In some B75 motherboards, the SATA mode default was set to AHCI mode. In most cases, IDE is a default value. Many SSD upgrades have been made for computers released around this time. If you change Satamode to AHCI mode, Windows can be run a little faster than IDE mode (it's a SATA II specification anyway, so I don't know if that's the difference in speed). As the SSD was installed on the old motherboard, you changed Satamode to AHCI mode and installed Windows 7. (Of course, Windows 7 support is now closed, so most people install Windows 10.) It's been a long time since the main boards H61 and B75 were released, so the batteries on the main boards are often discharged. If the mainboard battery is discharged, the mainboard's clock or set value may return to its initial value. Satamode values also go back to IDE mode, so there is an unintended problem. Windows 7 installed in AHCI mode boots to the IDE value, causing the blue screen to pop up and fail to boot. If boot fails several times, it enters Startup Repair mode, and Windows 7 Startup Repair does not automatically fix the boot problem, so it is repeatedly turned on and then turned on and off.

Again, if you change the mainboard setting to AHCI mode, it often boots normally. Then, if you change the registry value to boot when in IDE mode, you can boot normally without distinction between IDE mode and AHCI mode next time for any reason. (Please note that Google will search for a change in Windows 7 IDE AHCI settings for a related post.) Change registry values pciide, msahci, start "3" to =>"0")

Today, we changed to AHCI mode and booted normally, but for some reason, we are modifying the registry so that it can be turned on normally without the blue screen even if the mainboard value is initialized. If it was Windows 7 that I installed, it would have been shipped with these values changed. There are few requests to install Windows 7 these days. Windows 10 installation is mostly done.

I also replaced the CR2032 button battery on the main board just in case.
